Ouse Entertainment

In November of 2019, Icelandic singer/songwriter Ouse collaborated with Canadian rapper Powfu on the intensely poignant “Dead Eyes.” The song became a streaming darling, cracking the 36 million mark on Spotify alone. It’s a testament to Ouse’s uncanny ability to tap into human emotions with a single lyric, galvanizing a fan base of listeners eager for more. For the last several years, Ouse has carved a lane for himself, crafting songs that hover over emo hip-hop and pop while simultaneously traveling to other sonic dimensions. It’s arguably the 19-year-old wunderkind’s superpower, and as he readies his next project Crying In Camo, Ouse is geared to make more music that speaks to the soul.

Born in a village, just three hours shy of the Icelandic capital Reykjavík, Ouse had a regular small town childhood. “Everyone just knows everyone,” he explains. “Parents would just let the kids do whatever, because there was no danger, really.” Music was always a part of his life: his grandmother was a singer and a songwriter and she passed that talent down to his father. “I have memories of going to my grandmother’s house and watching her play the piano and singing songs,” the young artist recalls. That gift was later passed down to Ouse.

For the early part of his childhood, Ouse was simply a fan of music, listening to hip-hop artists like Eminem and independent rapper Hopsin, before later listening to the likes of emo rappers like the late Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion. “I would listen to pop, classical music, indie, just about everything,” he adds. “But it’s always been mostly hip-hop.”

By the time he reached his preteen years, he started struggling with anxiety and began making music as a form of self-therapy. “I think I was around like 12 when my dad got me a Mac Mini,” he says, “and that’s when I started creating songs.” It began with crafting instrumentals, where Ouse uploaded one to Facebook, followed by YouTube. He built a community of fans over Fortnite, while making beats for his friends as well. “I reached a point where I didn’t want to just create instrumentals,” Ouse remembers, “so I started singing and rapping over my own beats.” His momentum started building.

2018’s Loners Diary was a landmark moment for Ouse, as the project was anchored by the song “Lovemark,” which alone has a staggering 17 million streams. Things started happening quickly. “All the numbers kept getting bigger and bigger,” he says. “I guess when I got like a million monthly listeners on Spotify, that was when I knew that this was something crazy.” His track “Dead Eyes” followed a year later, and labels had begun to take notice. Ouse signed a deal with 12Tone Music earlier this year and plans to head into 2021 with a whole new project. The project is an amalgam of all of the parts that define Ouse. From raw emotions and honest lyricism to experimenting with sounds that live at the intersection of emo and hip-hop, Ouse is once again letting his listeners into his life.

At the heart of his art, Ouse is still making music as his own form of therapy, but in doing so has managed to help the world around him. It’s now become his mission on the road to stardom. “I guess my goal is to help as many people as I can,” he advises. “When I make music that expresses how I’m feeling, I know someone out there is feeling that way too and hopefully it makes them feel less alone.”

Ray Fulcher Entertainment

“When I left Harlem, there was a moment on the way to Nashville, three hours up the road, where I asked, ‘What are you doing? Why are you the way you are?’ Home, everybody I cared about in the world was there… Even when you have the dream, you have that foundation. But then, I just kept going.”

Ray Fulcher is a lot of things. National Barrel Racing Horse Association 18 and Under Finalist at 12… Masters of Social Sciences and Education… University of Georgia Bulldogs football staff, working with the Quarterbacks on the field… Car Salesman… ATV Parts & Service Manager… Son, friend, (ex)boyfriend, music lover… And he was very good at all of them.

But there was this one thing. Music.

The kid who always turned the radio up when “Ocean Front Property” came on, in spite of his father’s admonition “I can’t think when it’s that loud,” would see Eric Church at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia — and a light came on. Alone, no smoke or neon, this artist Fulcher didn’t really know played “Lightning.”

“There wasn’t a line in that song that I could relate to personally,” marvels the soft-spoken artist. “It’s about a guy on Death Row. But in that moment, every single word I felt. I thought, ‘However he’s doing that, I want to make people feel like that, too.’ Not that I was pursuing the music then, but the power of it just hit me.”

Like a lot of young men poised between youth and grown, Fulcher put together a few duos, the occasional band. They played “Tuesday’s Gone,” “River of Love,” “Let Her Cry,” “For What It’s Worth,” “All Along The Watchtower.” They drank some beer, had some laughs, wrote a few songs, talked to the people. Typical local band stuff, though the tugging at Fulcher never let go.

Even after moving home, he kept playing out, working jobs while he waited for a space to open up at the high school he’d attended. His life was set: teach social studies, coach football. It was the perfect small town life with all the sweetness, roots and dreams. What else was there?

After all, who dreams of 30+ million artist streams without a major label deal? Over 3 billion streams as a songwriter in a few short years? Four #1 singles co-written with one of your best friends? Or playing on some of country music’s biggest tours?

You can’t dream that. Impossible. But you can trust the fire in your gut, or the tugging at that “sensible” part of your brain. Sometimes, you just keep driving. And when you’re Ray Fulcher, who knew exactly one person in Nashville, who saw a musician he’d met once hit Facebook about being in Nashville alone, you let faith take you where dreams can’t imagine.

It was at the Tin Roof, he spied a kid he’d met the night he’d first come to Nashville to record. They’d bonded over loving Eric Church, a shared sense of humor, being outsiders and on fire with the desire to write songs that reached inside people. Striking up a conversation, they became friends, then started writing songs they wanted to hear and couldn’t find anywhere else.

Nashville being Nashville, everyone passed on both young men’s songs. Frustrated, they talked it out between themselves. Fulcher recalls, “We both had enough meetings, sat with enough people who kept saying, ‘You’re not ready… Keep working…’ They didn’t know, but we didn’t know either.

“I remember us talking, thinking, ‘I don’t know how to play this game, what these people want.’ But we knew inour hearts there were great songs, were songs we wanted to hear. In one way, we were a couple dudes in an apartment, making stuff up, stuff that wasn’t being made. Finally, we decided, ‘If it’s not right, it’s not right. But this is what we’re going to do.’”

Eight of those songs ended up on the 2020 CMA Album of the Year What You See Is What You Get. Eight more ended up on This One’s For You. Four of those songs – “When It Rains It Pours,” “Even Though I’m Leaving,” “Lovin’ On You” and “Does To Me,” featuring their mutual idol and influence Eric Church – went to #1.

Listening to his Black River debut Larkin Hill Mixes, the songs are instantly recognizable. Heck, they feel like old favorites from the very first listen. Maybe it’s the influences he grew up on. Maybe it’s the desire to lift people up, let them feel what he’s writing. Or maybe, just maybe, the friendly artist who writes songs of misdirection understands that life is what you make it – and lets his songs take it from there.

“We stuck to our guns, and we were right,” he says now. “Nothing works out like you planned it, but this turned out beyond our dreams. I’m thankful we trusted our sense that the songs we wanted to hear, other people would, too.

“I’m just so thankful… We were right to stick to our guns, and now I get to take my career to the next level. My dream’s never changed, only some of my circumstances are a little different!”

Matt Baiamonte Health & Wellness

Matt Baiamonte, was a protege of Angelo Dundee from 2000 until his death in 2012. Many famous boxing trainers have moaned that the art of developing a fighter is not longer being passed on. The pair of Angelo Dundee and Matt Baiamonte are an exception to that rule. Matt Baiamonte grew up in New York, the Mecca of Boxing. After his parents divorced, he moved to south Florida with his mom for 2 years. Missing New York, Matt moved back for a short time. Matt eventually moved back to Florida in 1991 and met and befriended Nate Brown, the trainer for Heavyweight contender Donovan “Razor” Ruddock. Brown took Matt to the boxing gym, where Matt began to learn the fine art of boxing. Matt soon found out that Angelo Dundee was training one of his many Champions Micheal “Second To” Nunn only minutes from his home in Hallandale, he then got in his car and sped over to meet the legendary trainer.

In 1998 Matt met a boxer named Roar Petajamaa who re-introduced Baiamonte to the finest boxing trainer of all-time, the legendary Angelo Dundee. Angelo Dundee trained 15 world champions including “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali, at his famed Fifth Street Gym. Angelo was kind enough to show Matt the ropes and impart to him methods he had used with his fighters. Matt’s friend Trevor Cedar opened up a boxing gym in Miami Beach around this time period. Matt introduced Trevor to Angelo and that is when things began to really take off for Matt. As a protegee of Angelo Dundee since 2000, Matt continues to use Angelo’s legendary training methods and style. Matt also studied under Luis Lagerman (another Angelo Dundee protegee). Luis was a big influence on the beginning of Matt’s training career. Matt has worked with and trained a number of the top ranked boxers in the world.. Then on September 14, 2012 Matt got his 1st World Champion, WBC Featherweight Champion Melissa “Huracan Shark” Hernandez. Matt also is a former owner of Angelo Dundee’s 5th Street Gym which was located in South Beach and is now being run without the family’s permission.

Matt has broadened his horizons by introducing his unique training methods into the octagon of MMA by working closely with WEF champion Pat Assalone. Matt also trains athletes from non-combative sports such as the NFL, NBA, Premier League Soccer, Indy Car Drivers, and top celebrities who simply want the benefits of Boxing training. Matt studied under Jeremy Fedoruk, the owner and creator of Athletic Enhancement Group (AEG), for strength and conditioning. With Fedoruk, Matt expanded his knowledge in training professional athletes and incorporated Olympic Baselifting to aid in the conditioning of his clients. Matt also attended the famed “Fitness Institute International.” Highly elite fighters usually have a staff that includes both a boxing trainer and a conditioning coach. Anyone who comes to his gym, which was featured on HBO 24/7, will quickly find out that Matt is both your conditioning and boxing guy. Matt picked his combat psychology up from the Freud of boxing- Angelo Dundee. In addition to being able to understand how people tick and how to motivate fighters, Matt’s vast experience, attention to detail, and profound understanding of the physical demands of preparing for a fight makes him one of the most sought after trainers in the land.
